Sansevieria Masoniana or Whale Fin Snake Plant, is probably one of the strangest and most eye-catching plants around. Native to the Democratic Republic of the Congo it is part of the wider Asparagaceae family – with a single blade, it’s one of the most recognizable in the family. In the wild, it can grow up to 4m in height, eventually forming a stalk with clusters of white flowers.As with many other Sansevieria varieties this plant if easy-to-grow as an indoor plant or outdoor in near frost free climates in a pot so long as soil drains adequately and is kept relatively dry through the winter months – a great plant under a protected eave.Whale Fin Sansevieria Masoniana is a rare type of snake plant, different from the other Sansevierias for its large leaf which resembles a whale fin in appearance.
